Please read this disclaimer carefully. It explains the limits of what MariVira is designed to do.
1. MariVira is a record-keeping and reminder tool
MariVira helps you organise information about your boats — documents, maintenance, engines, reminders, expenses, trips, safety equipment, insurance and photos — and sends reminders about dates you enter. That is its only purpose.
2. Not a navigation, safety or emergency system
MariVira is not a navigation, safety, distress, tracking or emergency system, and must not be relied upon for maritime safety. In particular, MariVira:
- does not provide navigation, charts, positioning, weather routing or collision
avoidance;
- does not transmit distress signals and is not a substitute for a VHF radio,
EPIRB, AIS, life-saving equipment or any official safety device;
- must not be used to make real-time decisions at sea or in an emergency.
In an emergency, contact the relevant coastguard or emergency services and use approved safety equipment.
3. Reminders are a convenience, not a guarantee
Reminders and the email digest are generated from the dates you enter and may be delayed, missed, or fail to deliver for reasons outside our control. Do not rely on MariVira as your sole reminder for safety-critical, legal, insurance or regulatory deadlines. Push notifications are not active in the current mobile release; today reminders are delivered by email.
4. You are responsible for compliance and your vessel
You remain solely responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of your vessel and for complying with all applicable maritime laws, regulations, licensing, inspection and safety-equipment requirements in your jurisdiction and waters. Always verify official requirements with the competent authorities.
5. No professional advice
MariVira does not provide legal, insurance, financial, engineering or navigational advice. Information you store or that the app displays back to you is not a substitute for professional judgement. Verify important matters (such as document validity and insurance coverage) with qualified professionals or the relevant authorities.
6. Accuracy of your data
The records in MariVira are the ones you enter. MariVira does not independently verify them and is not responsible for decisions made on the basis of inaccurate, incomplete or outdated information you have entered.
7. Limits, to the extent permitted by law
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, MariVira and its operator are not liable for loss or damage arising from reliance on the app for purposes it is not designed for, including maritime safety or emergency use.
